United States-based universities and colleges are eligible to apply NCIIA provides support for E-Teams (collaborating groups of college students, faculty and industry mentors) to bring innovative technology products and services from idea to prototype, and eventually to market. Grantees have access to NCIIA's venture development workshops, mentoring, and a chance to participate in the annual Showcase of Student Innovation.

Strong E-Team grant proposals demonstrate an idea’s technical feasibility, social value, a strong potential for commercialization, and teams with a mixture of technical and business expertise. Funded E-Teams have launched over 70 ventures, manufacturing and selling products in many industries, including wireless technology, medical devices, alternative energy, construction, safety and transport.
Have an idea but not sure it's a fit with the Advanced E-Team grants program? Send a 1-2 paragraph summary to grants@nciia.org and we'd be happy to review it and provide you with feedback. Please note that due to high volume, we are unable to guarantee replies to last-minute inquiries made less than two weeks prior to the proposal deadline.
